On the Facilitation of Group Travel by Chinese Tourists to Guyana

The Memorandum of Understanding that is being signed between the Government of Guyana and the People's Republic of China will facilitate group travel by Chinese tourists to Guyana.

This will facilitate designated travel agencies which have been authorized by China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) to operate outbound travel business for Chinese citizens, to organize the outbound group travel of Chinese tourists to Guyana.

While the Guyanese side will designate or recommend the travel agencies that are in operation according to the Guyanese rules and meet further criteria, and are interested in arranging travel of Chinese tourist groups to organize the group travel of Chinese tourists in Guyana.

Tourism service providers in Guyana will facilitate this initiative by setting up hotlines for consultation and emergency assistance to Chinese tourists in order to provide the relevant travel information to the Chinese designated travel agencies, in particular regarding travel possibilities to and within Guyana.

The Guyanese tourism service providers will also assign a tour guide for each group who will help, through mutual consultation with the Chinese tour leader, to solve any problem to be encountered by the Chinese tourists during the whole trip in Guyana.

This agreement will further strengthen relations between the two Governments and will enhance tourist industry in Guyana.
