PRESS RELEASEGUYANA - BRAZIL TRADE RELATIONS
Workshop and Business Seminar on"How to Export to Brazil" |

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and International Cooperation (MOFTIC), the Embassy of Brazil and the Private Sector Commission have organised a Workshop and Business Seminar on "How to Export to Brazil", to be held at the Ocean View International Hotel & Convention Center on June 27 - 28 2007.
The overall objective of the Workshop is the strengthening of Guyana - Brazil Trade Relations and Guyana's export capabilities under the Guyana-Brazil Partial Scope Agreement. Presentations will be made by technical experts from Brazil and Guyana on a number of issues including customs regulations, sanitary and phytosanitary requirements, insurance etc. This will be followed by specific focus group discussions on the second day of the Workshop.
The Workshop is considered timely given that other initiatives to enhance the bilateral trade and economic relations, such as the construction of the Bridge over the Takatu River and Brazil's declaration of Bonfim as a commercial port of entry, have been accelerated in recent months. The bridge across the Takatu River would facilitate a physical integration between Guyana and Brazil and easy access to the Caribbean which would benefit immensely from the improved trade flows between the Caribbean and other South American countries.
All Manufactures and Exporters who are interested in exporting to Brazil are invited to attend the Workshop and register with the Private Sector Commission or their respective business associations on, or before, Tuesday June 25th 2007.
